1. Mane opens the scoring:
After a goalless first-half, Klopp brought on his new signing Thiago Alcantara in Henderson's place to increase the tempo. The former Bayern midfielder wasted no time as the Spaniard began to make touches. Klopp's men broke the deadlock when Firmino played a one-two with Salah to get on Alonso's wrong side. The Egyptian winger delivered a cross into the middle as Mane got in front of James and the winger headed the ball in the net to give his side the lead.

2. Kepa's blunder sums up his time at Chelsea:
This was one of the highlights in the game as the former Bilbao keeper became the focal point. Tomori played the ball back to Kepa. The former Southampton winger pressed to get the ball as he lost it earlier. The most expensive keeper attempted to play the ball Jorginho only for Mane to intercept and score to increase his side's lead thanks to Kepa's error. With the arrival of Edouard Mendy, it looks like the Spanish keeper is set to depart Stamford Bridge.

3. Fabinho's and Alcantara's performance:
Klopp made changes to his side as he took out Joe Gomez and put Fabinho in his position. It was expected that he would struggle in that position as he is a holding midfielder. To everyone's surprise, the former Monaco midfielder put up a brilliant performance. He was solid in that area and kept Timo Werner quite. Klopp brought in Thiago Alcantara in the second-half in place of Henderson. The former Bayern midfielder wasted no time as he made early touches and played some brilliant passes. Unluckily, he gave a penalty to the Blues, and fortunately for him, Jorginho's spot-kick was saved by Alisson. Overall, both the players were solid in their positions,

Overall, the game wasn't very entertaining despite the hype. Chelsea was cautious and did not look threatening at all. With the absence of Chilwell, Ziyech, and Thiago Silva it was expected that the Blues would struggle at the back. Klopp's men were looking more in the comfort zone. The defending champions opened the scoring when their front 3 combined well to set up for Mane as the Senegalese winger headed towards the net to break the deadlock.

Things became worse for Chelsea when Christensen was sent off as the VAR showed that the Danish center-back pulled Mane to the ground and the Blues were down to 10 men. Liverpool scored their second goal when Kepa's pass to Jorginho was intercepted by Mane and the former Saints winger scored his second of the day. The Red's new signing Alcantara came on and began to signal his impact by making touches. He also gave a penalty to the Blues. Luckily for him, Jorginho's spot-kick was saved by Alisson. In the end, it was Liverpool who claimed all 3 points.
