Arsenal Vs Liverpool.
Gunners Vs The Reds
1. Arsenal finds the net despite Liverpool pressing:
The game began with Liverpool keeping more of the ball while Arsenal was looking to capitalise on counter-attacks. Initially, the Reds began to pressure the Gunners as they were pressing with intensity. Klopp's men had an early chance when Alexander-Arnold whipped an early ball to Van Dijk. The Dutch defender headed across Leno and, David Luiz cleared the ball on time to save his side.
This did not stop the defending champions from pressing as they had another opportunity to score when Alexander-Arnold again delivered a through ball to find Mane.
The Senegalese winger struck with power straight at Leno, who beat it away. Arteta's men escaped again when Robertson's corner was cleared by Luiz only to find Arnold as he struck the ball with power that touched Bellerin and hit the bar. The former Chelsea defender committed an error as his sloppy clearance lead to Keita setting up for Wijnaldum, whose weak effort was saved. Surprisingly, Arsenal took the lead when they countered as they broke the Reds press. Lacazette found Maintland-niles ,but his cross was very poor, but Robertson's clearance was a pathetic one as the ball fell to Lacazette's feet. The Frenchmen scored the goal thanks to a hilarious error.
2. Liverpool react immediately with two goals:
Arsenal took the lead thanks to a dreadful error; unfortunately, their lead did not last long. The Reds equalized when Luiz' fouled Keita but the advantage was played on by Firmino and played it to Salah. The Egyptian smoothly went through Tierney and struck the ball towards Leno. Mane followed on and nicked the ball towards the net to equalize.
The Gunners did not have an answer to the Reds style of play as they were losing the ball very often. Liverpool took the lead when Alexander-Arnold's cross touched Bellerin's head and found Robertson inside the box. The Scottish left-back controlled the ball and poked it past Leno. The Reds took the lead and, the left-back made up for his error that lead to the Gunners scoring.
3. New signing Jota makes his mark:
The Portuguese winger came on for Mane and looked sharp since coming on to the field. He was almost close to scoring in the early stages when Salah passed the ball through Arsenal's defense. Jota took a touch and swept the ball into the side net.
He was yet again close to scoring when Salah and Wijnaldum combined well to give Jota another opportunity. But, Salah tried to take the ball from jota and miscontrolled. Finally, he got his name on the score sheet when Luiz headed off Arnold's cross. The former Wolves winger controlled it by his chest and touched a bit off his arm and dragged a volley towards the net to score his side's third goal.
In the end, The Reds were victorious and claimed all three points. The Gunner's winning run came to an end while Liverpool maintained their perfect start. Liverpool had too many chances to put the game to the bed if they had not missed their early opportunities. It was Arteta's men took an early lead with their only counter attack with Lacazette putting his name on the score sheet and thanks to Robertson's dreadful error. There was a bit drama when Mane shoved Tierney's face and the VAR gave a yellow card despite protests saying that was a clear red.
The defending champions eventually pulled one back thanks to Mane and took the lead after Robertson made up for his error. Arsenal was better in the second half as they looked more resilient. They had another chance when Lacazette failed to score past Alisson for an equalizer. Had it gone in, things would have been different. New signing Jota came on and looked sharp as he was impressive on his debut for the Reds. He also had early chances to score in the initial minutes, but eventually, he scored. The final score was 3-1.
