1. PSG take the lead:
The Ligue 1 side began to look threatening in the early stages of the game as Neymar and Mbappe combined very well. Both stars seemed to be in a good mood as their chemistry was showing a good affect. Leipzig struggled to keep hold of the ball as PSG's game plan was executed very well. They seem to lose their spark which they had showed against Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals.
Tuchel's side had an early chance when Mbappe delivered a through ball to Neymar who dashed to reach the ball and the Brazilian nicked a touch towards the net which was almost very close to going in. They capitalized on an error committed by Leipzig and scored the goal only to be ruled out as Neymar was found guilty of a handball. PSG won a set-piece and Di Maria took responsibility and delivered a perfect ball towards the box. Marquinhos reached and scored the opening goal to give his side the lead.
2. Tuchel's men dominate and score a second:
Tuchel's men looked in the mood as they began to look more dangerous and were holding more of the ball. They were on the verge of extending their lead when Herrera found Mbappe and delivered a through ball to the former Monaco-man. Leipzig's keeper did well to deny Mbappe a goal and kept them safe. He was almost caught off-guard when PSG's freekick was taken by Neymar and the Brazilian suddenly went for a shot which hit the post and went away. It was an angle where freekick takers normally cross the ball. Gulacsi was beaten but thanks to the post, he escaped in this situation.
PSG looked very dominating and was firmly in the driving seat. Naggelsman's had no answer as the French side was easily controlling the tempo of the game. Tuchel's men scored their second when Gulacsi's pass to a teammate landed in the feet of a PSG player who played the ball inside and Neymar executed a wonderful flick to set-up Di Maria and the Argentinean scored the goal to extend the lead for his side. The Brazilian was close to score when Mbappe brilliantly set-up from the right side and waited for Neymar to arrive. The Frenchman slipped the ball towards him and the Brazilian struck on the run, but the ball was just wide near the post.
3. Leipzig begin to look threatening but PSG score the 3rd goal:
The German side began the second half by making changes. They looked threatening as they were looking to score early goals to give them confidence. Nagelsmann's men showed promising signs as they were beginning to press the PSG's defense. The center-backs did commit a few errors but managed to hang-on. Leipzig failed to convert the chances despite keeping more of the ball. Tuchel's men were sitting back and looking to capitalize on the counter.
Tuchel's men scored the 3rd goal when Leipzig committed a defensive error as Mukiele slipped near the corner flag and appealed for a foul. But, the ref took none of it and Di Maria picked the ball to deliver it inside the box. Bernat arrived and headed the ball towards the net. Neymar touched the ball to keep it inside but the ball had already crossed the line. It seemed that Nagelsmann men were close to getting back into the game, but it was thwarted by the Ligue 1 champions.
It was a historic night for PSG as they reached the finals for the first time. The French side completely dominated the game and was completely in control. They opened the scoring when Di Maria's freekick was headed by Marquinhos. PSG was looking more dangerous as Mbappe and Neymar were combining very well. Tuchel's men extended their lead when Gulacsi's pass was intercepted and the ball was played in the box immediately. Neymar's cheeky skill set-up Di Maria as the Argentine winger scored the second goal.
Neymar had 2 chances in the first-half which would have increased their scoreline. Leipzig started the second-half strongly as they were looking to score an early goal and get back into the game. Despite creating chances, they failed to convert. They began to look threatening, but PSG scored the 3rd goal when Di Maria capitalized on Leipzig's defensive error and delivered the ball inside the box. Bernat arrived in the box and headed into the net which turned out to be the winner. The German side was outmatched by Tuchel's side as their dream journey ended. PSG book their berth into the final will face the winner of Lyon Vs Bayern Munich.
