Everyone was eager to see who claimed bragging rights as the wait was finally over. But, in recent times the encounter between these two teams has not been up to the mark. The clash between these two teams has indeed been memorable back in the days when Arsene Wenger signed up for the Gunners in 1996. The Red Devils under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson boasted with quality players such as David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt, Roy Keane, and the list goes on. These 2 cross-town rivals locked horns at the Emirates. At present, even though these 2 teams are in the rebuilding process, there is no denial by the fact that the rivalry between these teams does have a history of players and controversies. Back then in the late '90s and early '20s, these two teams did begin to compete for the title. The Gunners boosted a variety of extremely talented players such a Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Viera, Robert Pires, Ashley Cole, Tony Adams, and the list goes.
